The last time I’ve been in this park a white deck was covering everything and I was enjoying myself like a child leaving my footsteps on the candid snow. 6 months have gone, and I’m here again lying down in the grass enjoying the sun and the warm weather.

I’m saying goodbye to the places of this city that are now I my heart, because even if the winter has been so long that I couldn’t believe it would have ended this city has been my home for so long. I discovered it, I found my spots in the long lonely days, I showed the parts I loved to the people I met. I’m bidding Toronto farewell because I don’t know when I’ll come back, but I’m still not ready to say goodbye to the people I met along the way.

I think about the moments spent before leaving Italy, all the tears, the confusing and sad days because I didn’t know what I should expect. I think about the bad moment I’ve had here, all the times that I’d liked to catch the first plane and go back home. And then I think about how I feel now, with drops running along my checks while I’m laying down in my hostel bed writing (my roommates will think I’m totally crazy). I look at the pictures I’ve taken and recognize how I changed in these months, how many new things I have inside and I can’t find the right words to explain. And I can say only one thing: thanks, Toronto, and thanks Canada for all you’ve given me.
