A calm and tired friday evening, I decide to lay in the bed and watch a movie while, all of a sudden, I hear a strange noise which seems like an alarm. I think that it comes from outside and decide to ignore it, but after 5 minutes it comes to my mind that maybe it could be the fire alarm of the building. I go out in the corridor and I see my roommates who are asking themselves where the noise comes from. When we finally figure out that it’s the fire alarm we decide to ignore it until the security guards tell us that we have to evacuate the building.

I panic: I can’t go out wearing my nightdress! So I pick up a t-shirt and a pair of pants, my pumps and a sweater. And what should I bring with me? Which of my stuffs here should I save? I grab my passport, my Mac, my purse, credit cards and my iPod and I go out.

Everybody is in the street, the “Pita shop” and the convenience store near the building are making their night because of the evacuation, because what can you do while waiting if not eating something? My roommates are a bit annoyed for the fact that they had to leave home, I look around and take pictures. Here are my roommates:

Ed ecco qui i camion dei pompieri:

And here are the fireman:

After 20 minutes we’ve been able to get in again, it was a false alarm! But this is Toronto, I’ve been told that often you should evacuate the building because of fire alarm. We ended up drinking limoncello in our kitchen, all’s well that ends well.
