Mai lasciare le chiavi di casa in stanza. O mai decidere, mentre cucini, di portare la spazzatura fuori dalla porta se sei sola in casa. La porta potrebbe chiudersi dietro di te senza che tu te ne accorga (ed ecco che si sporcona in italiano)!
Avrei aspettato fuori che qualcuna delle coinquiline rientrasse, ma la carne sul fuoco forse non sarebbe stata molto contenta. Quindi corsa alla security per dire che sono rimasta chiusa fuori, con faccia trafelata e ciglia che fanno sbat sbat per impietosire ancora di più l’omino (sono brava a fare la gattona!). Se poi ci si aggiungono un po’ di errori di inglese e un forte accento italiano il gioco è fatto!
Ecco che torno davanti alla porta di casa, vedo arrivare un altro omino della security che saluto sempre con un sorrido, mi apre la porta, lo ringrazio e gli chiedo se devo pagare subito (sono 5$ per ogni volta che ti fai aprire la porta!), ma lui mi dice: non preoccuparti e se ne va. Entro in cucina e la carne per fortuna non si è bruciata.
Morale della favola? Mai dimenticare le chiavi 
Never forget your keys in your room! Or never decide, while you are cooking, to bring the garbage outside the house door if you are alone at home. The door could close behind you in a second (cursing in Italian is allowed in that case)!
I would have waited outside for one of my roommates to come home, but maybe the meat on the grill wouldn’t have been happy. So I run to the security to tell them that I’ve been locked outside, breathless and clapping my eyelashes to move the security guard to pity (I’m good at doing that!). If you add some errors in English and a strong Italian accent it’s done!
So I go back to my house door, I see another security man coming (the one I always smile to when I meet him), he opens the door, I say thanks and ask if I should pay in that moment (it’s 5$ for each time you make them open the door), but he says: don’t worry and he goes away. I go back to the kitchen and luckily my meat is not burned.
The moral of the story? Never forget your keys home!
